RULES

for EPL 2020

1. GENERAL EVENT RULES

1.1  Official Name of the Event
The event will be referred to by the name, Mobitel Esports Premier League 2020 (or EPL 2020 in short).

1.2  Rights related to the Event
The event is owned and organised by Gamer.LK which is a part of InGame Entertainment PVT LTD (IGE) who reserve the exclusive rights to Esports Premier League and all intellectual property thereof as well as rights to organizing, operating and broadcasting the tournament. No other party is allowed to use any intellectual property related to the tournament without prior approval from IGE.

1.3  Period and Venue
Recruitment challenges will be held from 7th to 21st February 2020. The exact schedule will be released closer to the date. The Grand Finals will be held on 22nd February 2020 at Stein Studios, Ratmalana.

1.4 – Time Zone
All matches will be scheduled according to Sri Lanka time (GMT +5:30).

1.5 – Nationality
1.5.1 – This tournament is open only to applicants born in Sri Lanka or possess Sri Lankan citizenships.
1.5.2 – If you are not a Sri Lankan, to take part in this tournament, you need to have resided in Sri Lanka for a minimum period of 6 months (on a Residence Visa or a person studying in a Sri Lankan University or Institute or an employee of a Sri Lankan organisation under a valid permit or documentation). These documents need to be valid until the end of 2020. You are required to present sufficient proof of residence upon request by the organiser. 

1.6 – Playing from overseas
Sri Lankans living abroad cannot take part in this tournament.

1.7  Tournament Referees and Officials
Gamer.LK Referees will administer and manage all portions of the tournament. 

1.8  Banned players and publisher bans
Any players banned from Gamer.LK and IGE tournaments will not be allowed to take part. A link to a complete list of players currently banned from all Gamer.LK tournaments can be found at https://gamer.lk/blacklistAny players who have standing bans from the game publisher will not be allowed to take part. All game publisher bans will be honored and translated into Gamer.LK bans upon discovery at registration.

1.9  Sponsors
No third party brands or sponsors will be allowed. Participating squads are not allowed to promote any brands or sponsors not authorised by the event organisers. Any promotion of unauthorised brands will result in disqualification from the tournament. Gamer.LK has the right to request any squad to remove any visuals or text that may be deemed as promoting any unauthorised brands.

1.10 – Tournament format
Tournament format will be announced closer to the qualifier event dates.

1.11 – Grand Finals event equipment & network specification
Details about the Grand Finals event will be made available later. Players are expected to bring their own phones and peripherals (headsets, battery packs, etc) for the Grand Finals. However, Gamer.LK reserves the right to request all players to use smartphones provided at the event.

1.12 – Accreditation passes for all players at the Grand Finals
Gamer.LK will issue accreditation passes to all participants of the Grand Finals in Colombo. Players must wear these passes at all times at the tournament venue.

1.13 – Awards and prize penalty
Awards/prize money may be deducted due to behavioural and disciplinary penalties.

3. SQUAD COMMITMENT

3.1  By submitting a registration for EPL, all squads and players acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules set herein and especially with the decisions made by the Tournament Staff.

3.2  All competitors are expected to know and understand all the rules described here. Not knowing that a rule existed or that it was in place will not be considered as an acceptable reason for breaking said rule.

3.3  A player or squad’s name, icon, profile picture or logo may not contain any of the following:
– profanities,
– obscene or vulgar language,
– racist, anti-semitic or inciting hatred,
– gang affiliation,
– drugs,
– sexual material,
– offensive material,
– unauthorised sponsors,
– slander of Gamer.LK, IGE or it’s administration, partners or sponsors.
Using alternative spelling, gibberish or wrong spelling in order to avoid the requirements mentioned above is forbidden.

3.4 – Team names will not be changed after registrations are closed.

3.5  Account sharing is strictly prohibited. All participants need to have their own accounts. If found, this will lead to the disqualification of the squad and the banning of the offending player/s in future Gamer.LK tournaments as well. 

3.6  No player is allowed to be a part of multiple squads. If a participant is found to be in multiple squads, the player will be banned for a minimum period of one year and all squads the player was a part of will be disqualified.

3.7  Upon request by Tournament Staff, players will be required to send additional information including but not limited to full name, birth certificate/passport details, contact details (mobile phone, land phone, email address), date of birth, residential address and photo.

3.8  All player accounts should be atleast level 40, any new PUBG accounts will not be allowed.

4. SQUADS AND PLAYERS

4.1  Squad Size
4.1.1  A Squad has to consist of at least FOUR players.
4.1.2  Upto TWO substitute players can also be registered for each squad.
4.1.3  Each player can be registered and can subsequently play for only one squad during the tournament.

4.2  Substitutions
4.2.1  The substitute player/s must be registered with the squad prior to the tournament starting.
4.2.2  Use of a substitute player must be informed to the Tournament Staff at least three hours prior to the start of the scheduled match.
4.2.3  The use of non-registered, suspended, or otherwise ineligible players in a match is not allowed under any circumstances.
4.2.4  Doing so will result in a suspension or extended suspension of the individual in question, suspension of relevant squad management, and may result in match overturn.

4.3  Stand-ins
4.3.1  By definition, a stand-in here refers to a player who hasn’t been registered to a squad on the registration form but wants to play for a squad after registrations close/matches commence.
4.3.2  The use of a stand­-in in is strictly prohibited and is grounds for disqualification.
4.3.3  This applies to account sharing as well. The PUBG Mobile account that was used during registration should be the only one used for playing.

5. MATCH SCHEDULE

5.1  The match schedule will be published on the official EPL website – https://epl.lk and posted on the groups and pages listed in Rule No. 2.

5.2  For the online qualifiers, squads should be present online on PUBG Mobile at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. For the Grand Finals, squads should be present at the venue well before an hour of the times informed to the squads.

5.3 – Only a 10 minutes grace period will be provided for squads to be present for their matches. 

5.4 – Gamer.LK will make every effort to inform players of scheduled match dates and times – but please note it is the responsibility of the players to make sure they arrive on time for their matches. Gamer.LK will not be responsible to inform matches to players individually or provide reminders. Not attending a match due to not being informed of the schedule is NOT an excuse.

5.5 – Matches will not be rescheduled on request.

5.6 – Reschedules may be taken at the discretion of Tournament Staff, due to general game issues (such as if the game network is offline or unavailable due to a mandatory service breakdown/outage).

6. GAME RULES

6.1 – Game Format
All players need to enter the PUBG Custom ID and Password to join the lobby. The custom lobby settings will be as below.

6.2 – Match Format
6.2.1 – For all recruitment challenges, each group will play 3 maps – the first map is always defaulted to Erangel, the other two will be randomized by Gamer.LK from a map pool that doesn’t contain Erangel (3 maps: Vikendi, Sanhok, Miramar).
6.2.2 – For the grand finals, the final group of 9 squads has to play 6 maps – each map in the map pool currently will be played exactly once (4 maps: Erangel, Vikendi, Sanhok, Miramar). The remaining two maps will be randomized by Gamer.LK from all the maps available.

6.3 – Matchmaking Settings
The following matchmaking settings apply:
– Squad Size: 4 players
– Game mode: TPP
– Map Pool: Erangel, Vikendi, Sanhok, Miramar
– Server Location: Asia

6.4 – Usage of ingame flares
Players are allowed to use ingame flares.

6.5 – Scoring
Scoring will be for each game (i.e. in a best of 3 games, all 3 games will be scored) and be based on each squad’s final kill count and in-game placement as set forth below:

6.6 – Ties
Ties between two squads will be determined in the order of (a) total accumulated kills across all games, (b) best performing game based on total points, (c) best performing game based on total kills, (d) total kills in the last-played game, and (e) placement in the last-played game.

6.7 – Account suspensions/bans during the tournament
Any player who loses access to their registered account due to a suspension or penalty issued by the game publisher in the middle of the tournament, regardless of the reason will NOT be allowed to take part in the tournament thereafter. It is the individual player’s responsibility to safeguard their account. They will NOT be allowed to switch their account. The squad may proceed with a Substitute player if they have registered one on their roster or if not they will have to forfeit their matches.

7. GAMEPLAY RULES

7.1 – Abuses & Exploitation
Exploiting game or map bugs/glitches/flaws (“exploits”) for the purposes of gaining an unfair advantage is prohibited. Exploits that are not specifically named here are still prohibited but will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Tournament Staff reserve the right to decide what will be deemed as an exploit or abuse.

7.2 – Hacking
Hacking or otherwise modifying the intended behavior of the Game client is prohibited.

7.3 – Scripting
The use of scripts are prohibited.

7.4 – Use of Macros
The use of macros are prohibited.

7.5 – Use of Third Party Softwares
The use of any third-party addons, hooks, programs or wrappers that interact with or alter the client, its appearance or behaviour for the purposes of gaining an unfair advantage is prohibited. 

7.6 – Impersonations
Impersonating an eligible player by attempting to alias as them, using their account or by any other method is prohibited and will result in the aliasing player and the player they are aliasing as being removed from the tournament. 

7.7 – In-game names
Each player must have his/her primary nickname or something very similar as his game name during all matches to be easily identifiable for referees, broadcasters, and viewers. What counts as similar is for the Tournament Staff to decide. No additional information is allowed in a player’s in­game name. 

7.8 – Collusion
7.8.1 – All forms of collusion are strictly prohibited.
7.8.2 – Collusion includes but is not limited to match fixing, bribing a referee or match official, or any other action or agreement to intentionally influence (or attempt to influence) the outcome of any match or Event.
7.8.3 – Other forms of collusion include: 
– Teaming: Players working together during the match
– Planned Movement: Agreement between 2 or more opposing players to land at specific locations or to move through the map in a planned way before the match begins.
– Communication: Sending or receiving signals (both verbal and non-verbal) to communicate with opposing players.
– Item Dumping: Intentionally dropping items for an opposing player to collect.
7.8.4. – Players and teams found colluding will be disqualified immediately.

8. MATCH RULES

8.1 – Devices
Only smartphones are allowed to be used to play the game. PCs, consoles, tablets, laptops, triggers or any other non-handheld devices are not allowed. Even using the official emulator on PC is not allowed, players may only use devices running on Android or iOS.

8.2 – Pauses
There will be no pauses in the game.

8.3 – Disconnects
Players who disconnect during a match will be able to reconnect to the game. However, the game will continue during the period.

8.4 – Technical issues
At the Grand Finals, players should raise their hand and immediately contact Tournament Staff in the event of a Technical Issue. Staff will then assist to rectify the situation and the necessary action. Failure to report issues in a timely manner may cause the issue to be disregarded by the Tournament Staff. At online tournaments, technical issues will not be considered.

9. GENERAL GAME RULES

9.1  Pre-match ready-up (warm up) time 
9.1.1 – No pre-match ready-up (warm up) time will be provided.
9.1.2 – Players need to join the lobby to play their match directly and no separate warm-up time will be provided.
9.1.3 – Issues with headsets, battery packs, etc will not be reasons to hold up the starting time of a game.

9.2 – Coaches 
9.2.1 – Coaches are not allowed to communicate with their squads on Discord at any point during a match. 
9.2.2 – During the Grand Finals, coaches will be allowed near the match area during the match start, or post-match times.
9.2.3 – While a game is being played, under no circumstances can coaches be in the match area and/or be communicating with any player/s.
9.2.4 – If a coach is found in the match area or to be communicating with their squad during an unauthorised time, the entire squad may be disqualified at the discretion of Tournament Staff.

9.3 – Managers
9.3.1 – Squad managers are not allowed to communicate with their squad on Discord at any other point in the game.
9.3.2 – During the Grand Finals, squad managers will be allowed near the match area during the match start, or post-match times only.
9.3.3 – While a game is being played, under no circumstances can managers be in the match area and/or be communicating with any player/s.
9.3.4 – If a manager is found to be in the match area or to be communicating with their squad during an unauthorised time, the entire squad may be disqualified at the discretion of Tournament Staff.

9.4  Use of all chat
All chat CANNOT be used by any player. Players can only communicate with their squad members using squad chat.

9.5 – Match record report
All match results of EPL will be confirmed and signed by the assigned match referee. The referee will be responsible for recording any unusual occurrences during a match. The referee will be responsible for recording the details accurately and all records will be managed and maintained in English.

10. BROADCASTING RIGHTS AND ADVERTISEMENT

10.1  Broadcast rights
All broadcasting rights of EPL are owned by InGame Entertainment (Pvt) Ltd. This includes but is not limited to: IRC bots, shoutcast streams, video streams, live-broadcasts, recorded-broadcasts and derivative audio/visual content of the event. Gamer.LK reserves the right to use, distribute and modify all parts of this contents indefinitely. All ingame footage, assets and content are the property of the respective developers and publishers.

10.2 – Host broadcasting
Gamer.LK may at their discretion assign the broadcasting rights of any part of EPL to a third party or the players themselves. In this case, terms and conditions would have to be arranged with Gamer.LK before the event begins and express written permission should be granted by Gamer.LK.

10.3  Personal streaming of matches
Personal streaming of matches is not allowed unless otherwise explicitly permitted by Gamer.LK. Personal streaming of any match by a player without permission can lead to the disqualification of the squad and the banning of the respective player from the tournament.

10.4  Tournament stream delay
Tournament streams will be delayed (approximately 2 minutes) to avoid player sniping. In the event a squad or player is found to be abusing a tournament stream/s, they will be disqualified immediately and the squad will face severe penalties. 

10.5 – Player responsibility
Players cannot refuse to have their matches broadcasted nor can they choose in what manner the match will be broadcasted. All players agree to make sufficient accommodation so that broadcasting of matches can take place.

11. SHOUTCASTING

11.1 – At the Grand Finals, players are required to always wear their headphones during their matches.

11.2 – At the Grand Finals, the live casters will be restricted in their commentary of live game situations, however in any circumstance where the “live cast is heard” by the players it will NOT be stopped and play must carry on.

11.3 – All squads agree that the casting/game sound might interfere at the Grand Finals and must acknowledge that it is something they have to work around with and not complain regarding it.

12. PLAYER CONDUCT

12.1 – Dress Code (applicable to the Grand Finals)
12.1.1 – All players who qualify for the Grand Finals are expected to be present with suitable attire and clothing (i.e. not in shorts, flip flops and slippers/sandals).
12.1.2 – Players will be provided the relevant Tshirts and may not wear any other Tshirts instead. Players are not allowed to be dressed in any jeans/pants with any vulgar or offensive print.
12.1.3 – Any kind of face wear and head wear is forbidden.
12.1.4 – Keep in mind that it is your responsibility to generate a positive image for Esports in Sri Lanka.
12.1.5 – Players who are not in the proper attire may not be allowed to play.

12.2 – PR, Media Obligations & Publicity (applicable to the Grand Finals)
Players who take part in the Grand Finals must follow any instructions from Tournament Staff for any extra activities such as photoshoots, pre-game and post-game interviews, press conferences, squad intros, autograph/photo/video sessions, etc. Players cannot deny to attend these commitments. 

12.3 – Match Area (applicable to the Grand Finals)
12.3.1 – The match area is defined as the area immediately surrounding the players seating space during tournament play. The Tournament Staff may define the match area at their discretion.
12.3.2 – After a match commences, the only persons allowed in these areas are the participating players, Tournament Staff, Broadcasters and Organizers.
12.3.3 – No other persons including managers, well-wishers, coaches, etc can remain in the playing area once matches begin. Specific instances on coaches being allowed are detailed in Section 9 of these rules. Non-compliance by any such manager, or coach will be considered as an infringement and at the discretion of the Tournament Staff, be penalized accordingly.
12.3.4 – Players should not leave the match area during a match, without permission from the Tournament Staff. Once a match starts and until it is completed players should remain seated at all times.
12.3.5 – Players are strictly forbidden from eating or smoking in the match area.
12.3.6 – Smoking or vaping is strictly forbidden in the venue.
12.3.7 – Players are allowed to have beverages, but only below the table. Tables must be kept clear and clean at all times.
12.3.8 – Players are not allowed to bring any other electronic devices, cameras or similar devices into the gaming area unless prior permission is given by the Tournament Staff. Such devices have to be handed to tournament officials before starting to setup before the first match.
12.3.9 – Players will not be allowed to take any phone calls during the duration of a match after it commences. Any player found to be infringing this rule will be penalized and the squad may be disqualified from the tournament.
12.3.10 – Exaggerated loud noise and offensive language are forbidden.
12.3.11 – Paper versions of documents for tactical purposes are allowed in reasonable sizes and numbers (e.g. a notebook). Using any electronic versions, even on tablets or laptops is strictly forbidden and could lead to the forfeit of a match.

12.4 – Indecent Behaviour
12.4.1 – Swearing or any kind of hostility, racist or any sort of abuse verbal or physical towards another player is strictly prohibited. This includes chat messages in-game, verbal exchanges, etc.
12.4.2 – Insults on IRC, IM programs, Social Media, E-mail or other means of communication will be punished if the evidence is clear and is brought to the attention of Tournament Staff. Particularly severe abuse cases with radical statements or the threat of physical violence can result in significantly heavier penalties including the disqualification of the player or squad from the tournament and/or future tournaments as well.
12.4.3 – During the Grand Finals, please mind your language during matches.
12.4.4 – During the Grand Finals, players are strictly prohibited to be under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive drugs in the venue. Smoking, vaping, drinking alcohol or using any psychoactive drugs in the venue is strictly prohibited.

12.5 – Sportsmanship
All participants are required to uphold the highest standards of fair play and sportsmanship.

12.6 – Insults, Racial Slurs or Harassment
12.6.1 – We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for any kind of harassment including but not limited to; demeaning language, threats, hate crimes, intimidation, non-consensual photography or recording, stalking, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome physical attention as well as statements or verbal exchanges that threatens or expresses contempt of ethnicity, religious belief, sexual orientation, citizenship, appearance, body size, age, disability and gender identity.
12.6.2 – Depending on the gravity of the offence, significantly heavier penalties including the disqualification of the player or squad from the tournament and/or future tournaments as well, may be imposed.
12.6.3 – Every participant has to show the needed respect towards other participants, the Organizers, Tournament Staff and Casters. The ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY applies to EVERYONE attending including but not limited to: Attendees, Press, Staff, Sponsors & Guests.

12.7 – Physical Assaults (applicable to the Grand Finals)
12.7.1 – Any participant who attacks or physically harms another participant, a player of another squad, a Tournament Staff member, another attendee, press, sponsors or guest will immediately result in the perpetrator being disqualified from the tournament and banned from all future tournaments for a period of 2 years.
12.7.2 – The squad which the participant represents will immediately be disqualified from the tournament and banned for taking part in any Gamer.LK Tournament for a period of 6 months.
12.7.3 – Depending on the severity of the incident, additional penalties including legal charges may also be pursued against the person/s involved.

12.8 – Compete in a Professional Manner
Players are expected to compete in a professional manner. Throwing a match, halting play without cause or showing a flagrant lack of effort will be construed as a violation of player conduct, and will be penalized appropriately.

12.9 – Property Damage & Theft (applicable to the Grand Finals)
12.9.1 – In the event of intentional or accidental damages to hardware/property, the person/s responsible is expected to pay the damages to Gamer.LK.
12.9.2 – Intentional or accidental damage or soiling of any venue space, furniture, equipment will also be considered as damage to property.

12.10 – Alcohol & Psychoactive Drugs (applicable to the Grand Finals)
12.10.1 – Alcohol and drugs in any form do not belong and are not allowed to be taken into the venue.
12.10.2 – People found to be intoxicated and/or under the influence of drugs/other non-allowed substances will not be allowed into the venue or match areas. Their matches will be considered as forfeits.
12.10.3 – People found intoxicated and/or on drugs may also not be granted access into the venue and/or shown off the premises.
12.10.4 – Smoking is strictly forbidden indoors and is only allowed in designated areas outside. Electronic cigarettes are also not allowed to be used indoors.

12.11 – Report any Harassment or Abuse (applicable to the Grand Finals)
12.11.1 – We encourage everyone to immediately report any sign of harassment, both to yourself or if you witness it happening to someone else.
12.11.2 – Report it to a Tournament Staff Member who have tags clearly marked with STAFF on themselves.

12.12 – Limitations (applicable to the Grand Finals)
All the above player conduct restrictions are imposed upon entry from the gate of the Tournament premises (security checkpoint or main entrance gate). Any incidents that take place beyond the premises or during transit are not covered by these rules and Tournament Staff or Organizers cannot be held liable for any such incidents either.

12.13 – Betting or Gambling
12.13.1 – Gambling in any form, including betting on the outcome of games has no place in the world of Esports or even video gaming in general. Gamer.LK has a strict policy of any form of gambling being prohibited.
12.13.2 – Any detection of the same will lead to severe penalties being imposed on the offenders. This includes match fixing and related offences as well.
12.13.3 – No players, squad managers, staff or management of attending squads may be involved in betting or gambling, associate with betters or gamblers, or provide anyone any information that may assist betting or gambling, either directly or indirectly, for any match in the tournament.
12.13.4 – Any player found to be in breach of this rule will face severe penalties including lifetime bans from all Gamer.LK Tournaments. Squad officials, staff, management will similarly face the maximum penalties that can be issued.

12.14 – Match Fixing
Match fixing is defined as the act of arranging the outcome of a match prior to its being played. Match fixing is strictly prohibited and all individuals involved will face severe penalties including lifetime bans from all Gamer.LK Tournaments. Squad officials, staff, management will similarly face the maximum penalties that can be issued.

12.15 – Cheating Of Any Kind
Any player/squad found to be cheating including but not limited to in-game cheats, faking match results, faking match demos, faking or ringing a player, playing with a disallowed player, impersonating a player/clan/organisation, will face severe penalties including lifetime bans from all Gamer.LK Tournaments. 

12.16 – Competition Manipulation
12.16.1 – Offering money/benefits, making threats or exerting pressure towards anyone involved with Gamer.LK, its partners or sponsors with the goal of influencing a result of a match is considered competition manipulation.
12.16.2 – Any player found to be in breach of this rule will face severe penalties including lifetime bans from all Gamer.LK Tournaments. Squad official, staff, management will similarly face the maximum penalties that can be issued.

13. SPECTATOR CONDUCT (APPLICABLE TO GRAND FINALS)

13.1 – Positive Spectator Sportsmanship
Spectators are an important part of the game and at all times, in the spirit of good sportsmanship and favorable spectator involvement, fans are strongly encouraged to be loud, to be proud, but to be POSITIVE and WITH CLASS.

13.2 – Spectator Responsibility
Spectators shall at all times respect Tournament Staff and players and extend all courtesies to them.

13.3 – Indecency, Abuse and Harassment
Taunting, foul and abusive language, noisemakers, inflammatory remarks, and disrespectful signs and behavior will not be tolerated.

13.4 – Ejection of Spectators from the Premises
13.4.1 – Any person(s) using inflammatory language and/or displaying inciting actions will be warned by the Tournament Staff that continuation of the activity will result in their ejection from the premises.
13.4.2 – If the language and/or activity continues, the offending person(s) will be remo – In a particularly flagrant case of inflammatory language and/or inciting action, the offending person(s) may be removed immediately without a warning.
13.4.3 – The determination of whether certain language is inflammatory and/or action is inciting will be a judgment made by the Tournament Staff and will apply whether the offense is aimed at the tournament participants, Tournament Staff, other spectators, etc.

13.5 – Indecent Signs, Tshirts (Clothing) or Noisemakers
Any signs, banners, shirts, noisemakers, etc. deemed inflammatory by the Tournament Staff, or that are in violation of venue policies, will be removed.

13.6 – Targeting a Player or Tournament Official
At no instance (at a tournament or outside) should a player or tournament official be targetted or named for any abusive or in any demeaning manner (through public posts on the forums or social media groups/pages, profile names, etc). All players and officials should be treated with the respect they deserve and any such misconduct on the contrary may be penalised.

14. PENALTIES FOR BREACH

14.1 – General Player Penalties
Violation of the rules or failure to comply with Tournament Staff may lead to the following penalties. Depending on the severity of the offense, levels of penalties may be skipped.
14.1.1 – Warning: After a warning is given during a game it will continue until the game is completed. If three warnings are accumulated then the squad will be disqualified from the tournament upon receiving the third warning.
14.1.2 – Game Loss: Game loss given to a squad means that the squad loses the current game no matter what the result of that game is. In a best of 3/5 games situation, this refers to the game that is being played.
14.1.3 – Disqualifications: A squad disqualified will be ejected from the tournament. They will not be able to proceed in the bracket.
14.1.4 – No Show: A squad that registers for the tournament and doesn’t show up for a match or pulls out of the tournament will be considered “no show”. This will affect their Gamer.LK ranking as this will reduce their points. In the bracket however, the scheduled match would be considered a walkover.
14.1.5 – Ban: In extreme circumstances, a squad/player might be banned from playing in any single match (disqualified) in the ongoing tournament. Based on the severity of the violation this ban might extend to future Gamer.LK tournaments.

14.2 – Penalties on Player Conduct
Players who are caught swearing or behaving in a hostile manner towards their opponents or staff or spectators will be issued with a warning and suitable penalty upon their first infraction. A second or continued infraction will result in forfeiture of the match.

14.3 – Penalties on Unprofessional Behavior
Players who are caught throwing a match, halting play without cause or showing a flagrant lack of effort will be issued with a warning and suitable penalty upon their first infraction. A second or continued infraction will result in forfeiture of the match.

15. EVENT SECURITY (APPLICABLE TO GRAND FINALS)

15.1 – All players, spectators and visitors may be asked to walk through security scanners, searched or patted down by security personnel before being allowed admission to the Event Venue.

15.2 –  If any banned objects are found, the security personnel will be entitled to confiscate the object and to refuse the owner admission to the Event.

15.3 – Access control will be in conformity with the applicable laws and is aimed at preventing weapons or hazardous substances that may disrupt the proceedings at the Event and/or put the safety of the participants and visitors at risk.

15.4 – The following items are banned across all events:
– Drugs or other illegal mind-enhancing substances;
– Projectiles or explosives in solid, liquid or gas form;
– Flammable products or materials & spray cans;
– Pyrotechnical objects (fireworks, torches, etc);
– Any other weapons or sharp, pointy objects (sticks, chains, knives, etc);
– Banners or items bearing discriminating and/or provocative texts or expressions that may be used in an attempt to disrupt the peace, or that may endanger the safety of the crowd and/or may cause injuries or damage to people and goods;
– Animals;
– Drones.
– Any other objects (umbrellas, parasols, camera tripods, laser pens, etc) of which the security personnel decide that they pose a risk to the public at the event; 

15.5 – The above list may change depending on the restrictions placed by the Venue. 

16. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

16.1 – Players in need of medical assistance should alert Tournament Staff immediately. Tournament Staff will not restart matches due to medical issues. Serious medical issues will be escalated as necessary by the Tournament Staff for further assistance.

16.2 –  If a player is vacated from the Playing Area during a match, they will not have an option to return to the Playing Area mid-game even if their medical issues subside. They may return to the Playing Area after the ongoing match ends. They will not be allowed access to the playing area even to retrieve their belongings.

17. PUBLICITY AND PR

17.1 – Gamer.LK reserves the right to use the name, tag, likeness, video, game play statistics, and/or gaming account ID of any player, for publicity purposes prior to, during, or after the tournament/event end date, in any media, throughout the world, in perpetuity, for any purpose including but not limited to, advertising, marketing and promoting the tournament/event and future tournaments. For a full understanding of what this means please refer to the Player Appearance Release.

17.2 – By entering the premises or venue a Gamer.LK event is being hosted on, all spectators automatically consent to being photographed or filmed and herewith grant Gamer.LK the permission to use and/or broadcast these digital images. Gamer.LK may use these digital images for promotional and/or commercial purposes. In addition, these images may be used by commercial and/or (media) partners. 

18. DISPUTES ON MATCH OUTCOMES

18.1 – Any match result or outcome is open for disputes and any player or squad is requested to email us on [email protected] to submit their disputes.

18.2 – Submitting a dispute will not guarantee action but will merely draw the attention of the Gamer.LK Administration towards the match and particulars submitted.

18.3 – Disputes submitted will be treated with confidentiality and details of who reported what match, etc will not be publicly disclosed. Disputes submitted will be received by the Gamer.LK Administration, after which the necessary particulars will be passed onto the relevant Tournament Staff.

18.4 – Disputes on an online match need to be done within 3 hours of match completion. Submissions sent thereafter will be ignored and not considered.

18.5 – Disputes at the Grand Finals must be first made immediately to the Gamer.LK Tournament Staff and thereafter they will escalate or decide as necessary.

19. DISPUTES ON REFEREE CONDUCT

Any player or squad who feels that a Tournament Staff Member (Referee, Caster or Tournament Staff) acted in a manner contrary to the spirit of the game and lacking professionalism may report such instances directly to the Gamer.LK Administration. Please email such instances to [email protected] with all the details surrounding the situation. All reports will be kept confidential and the Administration will get in touch directly to discuss the matter further. 

20. RULE CHANGES

Gamer.LK reserves the right to ignore or overrule any of the above-mentioned rules in order to make the competition as fair as possible. Squads and participants acknowledge the right for Gamer.LK to modify the rules and regulations as and when needed. Such modifications need not necessarily be publicly announced during the progress of a tournament.

21. LIABILITY

No person/s shall hold the Organizers, Tournament Staff (Gamer.LK, InGame Entertainment), Referees, Sponsors and Partners liable in any manner whatsoever for any circumstance or situation arising from or at any of our events including but not limited to acts beyond its control, including without limitation, acts of God, acts or regulations of any governmental or supra-national authority, war, terrorist activities or national emergency, accident, fire, lightning, riot, civil commotion, explosions, strikes, lockouts, industrial disputes or epidemics.

22. LEGAL PROCESS

Legal proceedings are not permitted.

23. CONFIDENTIALITY

The content of protests, discussions or any other correspondence with Gamer.LK referees, officials and administrators are deemed strictly confidential. The publication of such material is prohibited without a written consent from Gamer.LK administration.

24. ADDITIONAL AGREEMENTS

Gamer.LK or its staff, partners or sponsors are not responsible for any additional agreements, nor do they agree to enforce any such agreements made between individual players or squads. The Gamer.LK administration highly discourages such agreements taking place, and such agreements that are contradicting any rules set here are under no circumstances allowed.

25. VALIDITY OF THE RULES

If a provision of any of the rules listed herein is or becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that shall not affect the validity or enforceability in that jurisdiction of any other provision of these rules or the validity or enforceability in other jurisdictions of that or any other provision of these rules.

26. LOCAL LAWS

If any rules or procedures are in conflict with local laws, they will be adjusted to be aligned with the laws in a way to stay as close as possible to the originally intended effect.

27. DISCLAIMER

The Organizers, Tournament Staff, Referees, Sponsors and Partners will not be responsible for:

– Any late, lost or distorted registrations
– Any loss of hardware peripherals, personal belongings (including but not limited to mobile telephones, laptops, hard disks, pen drives) and/or liveware
– Telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or other computer- or communications-related malfunctions or failures
– Any contest disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond the Organizer’s/Gamer.LK’s control

The Organizers reserves the right to deny entry to any event to anyone who violates the event rules.
